The key to a functional siphonic system is a well designed siphonic outlet and the right design philosophy.
The ULTRAFLOW Siphonic Roof Drainage System involves the design and installation of a unique roof outlet and specialised pipework. In a genuine siphonic system, these elements will prevent air intrusion and allow the system to run full bore during a rainstorm. Unlike conventional (or gravity) systems, this creates a negative pressure at the location of the outlet, the magnitude of which is dependent on the configuration of the pipework. This negative pressure literally sucks the water along the horizontal collector pipe and down the downpipe
The Ultraflow Siphonic system involves the design and installation of a siphonic outlet constructed of a stainless steel base with a plastic air baffle an debris guard. Connecting to the siphonic outlet can be a host of different piping materials. Commonly used pipe materials are:
- HDPE
- Stainless Steel
- Copper
- Cast Iron
- FRC
Other materials can also be used though it isn’t recommended.
